The EQ-i 2.0® Emotional Quotient Inventory is one of the first scientifically validated emotional intelligence instruments in the world. As a result, it is one of the most widely used. Based on more than twenty years of research worldwide, the EQ-i 2.0 examines an individual’s social and emotional strengths and weaknesses. Respondents self-report on their life and workplace performance in 15 key areas of emotional skill. The EQ-i 2.0® Emotional Quotient Inventory assessment is administered online using a secure site. Participants respond to 133 statements related to emotional intelligence skills which takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.

Additionally, the EQ-i 2.0® Emotional Quotient Inventory can also be administered as a 360 assessment for individuals. When administered as a 360 assessment, the self-assessment data is combined with perspectives of others who work with an individual. This increases the quality of feedback and ensures that personal performance goals are aligned with organizational vision and goals.
Each comprehensive report provides participants with overall results and presents these using the five EQ composite areas: Self-Perception, Self-Expression, Interpersonal, Decision Making, and Stress Management. The report also provides a detailed interpretation of how effectively a participant uses the 15 EQ competencies and how, by balancing these competencies, they can significantly improve personal well-being, workplace and leadership performance, interpersonal relationships, and communication.
The reports generated can be used in subsequent workshops as a foundational benchmark to begin building increased emotional intelligence capabilities. Data received from the EQ-i 2.0® Emotional Quotient Inventory is competency based, unlike a trait or personality style, and can be improved over time with specific adaptations to behaviors and mindsets. The report provides specific tips on the areas you would like to master, and the assessment can be retaken later to measure progress.
