Emotional Quotient Inventory 2.0

Emotional intelligence makes leaders and individuals more efficient, productive, and effective in the workplace. However, soft skills remain one of the most sought-after skills by CHROs and CEOs. Those who think emotional intelligence is a soft skill are in for a hard lesson. The EQ-i 2.0® Emotional Quotient Inventory assesses your leaders and high potentials to build an organizational foundation that endures, engages employees, and retains key talent for a lifetime.

As organizations look to retain key talent and drive innovation and growth strategies, emotionally intelligent leaders are more important than ever. Fifteen years of research has shown that leaders tend to score higher in emotional intelligence than the general population. Assess your leaders and high potentials using the EQ-i 2.0® Emotional Quotient Inventory.

The EQ-i 2.0® Emotional Quotient Inventory is one of the first scientifically validated emotional intelligence instruments in the world. As a result, it is one of the most widely used. Based on more than twenty years of research worldwide, the EQ-i 2.0 examines an individual’s social and emotional strengths and weaknesses. Respondents self-report on their life and workplace performance in 15 key areas of emotional skill. These key areas have been proven to contribute to proficiency in complex business activities such as conflict resolution and planning.

The EQ-i 2.0® Emotional Quotient Inventory assessment is administered online using a secure site. Participants respond to 133 statements related to emotional intelligence skills which takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.

Organizations can then choose the report type that best suits their needs. Available reports include:
  • The EQ-i 2.0 Workplace Report puts the emphasis on workplace performance
  • The EQ-i 2.0 Leadership Report focuses on leadership effectiveness, each in the context of emotional intelligence.
  • The EQ-i 2.0 Group Report combines individual EQ-i 2.0 scores in a manner that enables interpretation at the group or team level, while maintaining anonymity of the participants’ individual scores. An overview that identifies group strengths, as well as areas where the group can be more effective is presented. Implications at an organizational level are examined and strategies for action that can further develop the group’s potential are recommended.

Additionally, the EQ-i 2.0® Emotional Quotient Inventory can also be administered as a 360 assessment for individuals. When administered as a 360 assessment, the self-assessment data is combined with perspectives of others who work with an individual. This increases the quality of feedback and ensures that personal performance goals are aligned with organizational vision and goals.

Each comprehensive report provides participants with overall results and presents these using the five EQ composite areas: Self-Perception, Self-Expression, Interpersonal, Decision Making, and Stress Management. The report also provides a detailed interpretation of how effectively a participant uses the 15 EQ competencies and how, by balancing these competencies, they can significantly improve personal well-being, workplace and leadership performance, interpersonal relationships, and communication.

The reports generated can be used in subsequent workshops as a foundational benchmark to begin building increased emotional intelligence capabilities. Data received from the EQ-i 2.0® Emotional Quotient Inventory is competency based, unlike a trait or personality style, and can be improved over time with specific adaptations to behaviors and mindsets. The report provides specific tips on the areas you would like to master, and the assessment can be retaken later to measure progress.
